The Market

The cardiology and electrophysiology marketplaces are large and growing.  Procedures in these markets include transcatheter cardiac valve replacement, percutaneous cardiac valve repair, arterial stent-graft placement, left atrial appendage closure, stent placement, treatment of atrial fibrillation, transcatheter coronary artery repair, cardiac rhythm management, and the like.

More than 2 million Americans have arrhythmias originating in the left atrium that could be treated endovascularly; 226,000 electrophysiology studies and 135,000 catheter ablations procedures are performed in the US each year.

The Product: Steerable Transseptal Needle

The Company has developed its Steerable Transseptal Needle (STSN) capable of being inserted through a transseptal introducer. The distal curve of the Steerable Transseptal Needle can be controllably adjusted, under fluoroscopy or echocardiography, to facilitate targeting the fossa ovalis.
